ARTIST PROFILE

Destiny Pelley is an American art student of digital and traditional media. Though she likes many forms of art, she greatly enjoys expressing herself through illustrative concepts and cartoons, both usually consisting of animal subjects. Her favorite traditional media include charcoal, pastel, and graphite.
Animated movies were the biggest inspiration for Pelley as a child. The idea of visuals telling a story always intrigued her, and it’s been the catalyst that has continued to spur her imagination.  “I want my pieces to tell a story all their own for the viewer to interpret. Just like poetry can be understood in many different ways, art is also subjective to each individual and I hope to bring that out in every piece I make.”
Currently, she is a freelance artist and illustrator. Her work has been in conferences, holiday events, local art shows, and most recently in the children's book Molly and Papa's Adventure.
In the future, Pelley plans to enroll in the American Academy of Art in Chicago to study in the field of illustration.
